Description
The marine biome is the largest biome in the world, it is really all the oceans. All 7 oceans and gulfs and bays are included in this biome. It covers 3/4 of the Earth's surface. It has a vast ammount of life here and it is the most biodiverse biome in the world. 90% of life on Earth is found in the marine biome. Algae, a plant found here, produces most of the oxygen in our atmoshere. There are 3 major ecosystems found here, coral reefs, oceans, and estuaries (where rivers meet the ocean). The water can be warm or cool depending on where you are. The climate is pretty simple,it is warmer by the equator and colder as you get to the two poles. The deeper you go in the ocean, the colder it gets. The winds by the ocean genreally match the temperature of the water, not only that though. Winds can create lagre waves, which can lead to typhoons and hurricanes. Rainfall is alot because most of the water cycle can run through this biome. Much of the Earth's rainfall flows into the biome. The rainfall averages vary wherever you are.
